Five

So this is the result of my very first attempt at Installation art. In less than two weeks too!

I got a frantic call from a friend at the local museum/gallery about three weeks ago saying that two artists had backed out of the show one of which had agreed to/ been given a years advance notice for her piece in the show. This artist had been given the largest spot to fill with a Installation piece and she backed out of the show last min. So I got the call (lucky me!) to fill the spot. It wasn't until after I agreed that I was told it needed to be an installation piece. So this was a pretty fun/stressful experiment.

Its made of paper (an antique dictionary to be exact) and each of the pieces lit up has illustrations on them done in ink.
Though it looks small in a picture it is 16ft tall at its highest point. By far the largest piece of anything I have ever made.


the Idea behind this was "what my sketchbook might look like if it were formed in three dimensional space" or something like that.
